Become a Certified Passive House Tradesperson (CPHT)

Learn about the most advanced construction standard in the world, how to implement passive principles in your projects, and everything necessary to become a PHI Certified Passive House Tradesperson (CPHT). Open to all tradespeople and project team members with working knowledge of construction.

We are offering an intensive 4-day course during the week leading up to the CPHT exam.

Module 1: Mon/Tue– May 21st + 22nd Module 2: Wed/Thu– May 23rd + 24th CPHT Exam: Fri – May 25th, 2018

A typical daily schedule has us starting the day at 8am, a 15-minute morning break, a one-hour lunch break, a 15-minute afternoon break, an end-of-the day workshop, and finishing the day between 5 and 5:30 p.m. (depending on the pace of the group).

Note: Going forward, Emu will begin offering these Modules throughout the year in Denver, Colorado. Participants will be able to choose to split up the modules over a one-year period (i.e. take the modules in two separate sessions). Completion of Module 1 will be required for participants to register for Module 2.

In order to become a PHI Certified Passive House Tradesperson at the conclusion of Modules 1 and 2, you may take the CPHT Exam. This is an open-book, pass/fail exam. Emu will be providing registrants with the necessary materials to guide test-takers through the exam.

It is made up of 3 sections (45 minutes per section):1) Passive House Basics is required. Each participant may chose between the next two sections: 2) Building Envelopeor3) Building Services or both The exam fee covers all three sections, as well as one 45 minute review session with Emu in the event of a failing grade (as issued by PHI).

The exam is internationally recognized. Participants who successfully pass 2 sections of the exam will receive a CPHT Certificate from PHI and will be listed in PHI’s international database for five years.

1. When is the registration deadline? We need to confirm with Emu by April 15th so they can plan travel. We will take registrations later as we will take as many people as are interested in the class. But we need to confirm with Emu by April 15th that we have enough class registrants to run the class.

2. Can I get my money back? It will be hard for us to issue a refund right away, but we will be able to issue a refund if necessary. We understand that things happen in life. We hope that you will register for this valuable class and that you will be able to attend or offer your class to a coworker. If something happens and you legitimately cannot attend, if you will be patient with us, we will issue you a refund as soon as we can.

**OUT OF TOWN REGISTRANTS: Local hotel group code may be available. Please contact us for details!**
