Position summary : Dynamics and fate of air pollutants in buildings EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne) invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the School of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering. The projects will be based in the Human-Oriented Built Environment Lab (HOBEL) at the EPFL Fribourg campus and Smart Living Lab. The focus of HOBEL is centered on advancing the knowledge of the intersections between people and the built environment with an aim to ensure high indoor environmental quality for building occupants with minimum energy input. The lab’s mission is to improve the knowledge in the following domains:
Entry requirements : Strong candidates will have demonstrated expertise in one or more of the themes listed above, and will seek to pursue experimental research that is aligned with HOBEL’s mission. Successful candidates must hold a PhD degree (or to be near its completion) in Mechanical, Civil, Architectural, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline. Preferred candidates will have academic records that underline his/her ability to publish in top-ranked peer-reviewed journals. The successful candidate should be bright-minded, passionate, team-oriented, and should have strong written and oral communication skills in English. Practical experience in desirable but not required.

There will also be possibilities to contribute to the lab’s teaching activities, if desired. The successful candidate will also have full access to all EPFL research facilities in Fribourg and on the main campus in Lausanne.
